Over the 40 years of crafting, painting, thrifting, you name it that my mom has done, lets just say she has tried, tested and reviewed a ton of products in her lifetime. I thought it would be good to have a tips and hints section that share all of her expertise and advise on how to get a job done right the first time with the best products at an affordable price of course. I dedicate this section to any and all tips and hints that my mom has given me along the way.
One coat, I don’t believe it….

Another painter once told my mom that marquee paint covered in one coat. She of course immediately did not believe it until the day she offered to paint our basement. She estimated it would take about 10 hours of time to complete the basement, it was quite big after all. She hated the price of Marquee paint, it was almost twice the price of regular paint, but as luck would have it, Home Depot had a rebate where you would get 30% off if you bought two gallons. So we thought why not, if it actually covers in one coat it, it would take about 5 hours of time instead of 10 to complete the project. Time is money after-all. The result, well lets just say, 5 hours later the basement was complete!
So my moms review of Marquee paint: 5 stars, totally worth the extra money to save the time and it covers so easily.
Best place to buy: Home Depot, look for a sale or when they have a rebate. Paint can last a while so don’t be afraid to buy a gallon or two and tint it later.
Downside, it is pricier, but time is money.
