Trick-or-treat is oh so sweet

Halloween is one of my favourite holidays. Ok I know it’s not a holiday but it might as well be in my opinion. It’s such a great time to dress up and be goofy and have fun. I also love decorating and getting ready for all the little trick-or-treaters. We have a lot of young kids in our neighbourhood so I don’t like to go too crazy and buy super scary decorations.

Naturally as with every holiday it gives me the chance to gather ideas and start a new project. This year I wanted to focus on my front porch. I decided on the look I was going for, but of course I needed my moms help to start and complete the project.

With our pintrest board updated with all our ideas my mom was off to one of her favourite shops, habitat for humanity in search of two wooden boards. It wasn’t long when I received a phone call with my moms famous words “guess what I got today, a large wooden plank for $3” And I had them saw it in half to make two signs.  So our project was off to a good start.

My mom whisked the boards home and was thinking of ways to cover it.  “I know, I’ll use an old pair of black pants to cover the board” she thought.  Only my mom would think to use old pants to over a black board, but it worked like a charm.  She theb went to staples to print out the letter BOO and the look was ready to complete.

Now all we needed was to add a few other decorations, pumpkins, a ghost and some spider webs.

Voila, my Halloween front porch was complete.

Happy Halloween!
